An Orlando WDO Inspection includes all wood destroying organisms, fungus, powder-post beetles, termites, etc.
The three principal types of termites in Florida are subterranean, which nest in the soil; dampwood, which infest damp wood; and drywood termites, which infest dry wood. Subterranean termites (Figure 1) are the most destructive of the three species and infest wood from underground. These termites have become a burden to homeowners today because it is not until there is severe infestation that these hidden creatures are seen.
Collectively, they cause more than 5 billion dollars of damage each year in the United States. Doesn’t matter the type of construction your home is. Block or frame construction, there’s some portion these pest will find appropriate for their dinner table. One thing that’s so frustrating about the issue of termite and wood destroying organisms is…it’s hard to know they are there and causing damage until there’s pronounce damage.
Often, you just can’t see termite and WDO damage until it’s too late. That’s why having an Orlando WDO Inspection or and Orlando WDO/WDI inspection is so important. Whether you’re buying an Orlando home or you just own a home. A WDO inspection is the first step in knowing.
An Orlando termite inspection, often called an Orlando WDO inspection, will help determine the possible presence of termite or other wood destroying organisms before there’s a lot of damage. But even an experienced and well trained Orlando WDO inspection won’t always confirm termite and WDO’s presence. It’s a visual inspection, on a given day, at a given time.
The state of Florida requires licensure for termite and WDO inspectors.
I am not licensed nor qualified to offer or preform an Orlando WDO inspection / Orlando WDO/WDI inspections. I do, however, recommend you have that done before you buy a home buy someone that is. And if you own a home in Florida, get a termite / WDO inspection, then follow up with a bond when available.
